You have to wonder what John Allen would think. Allen, the first president of the University of South Florida, was determined to create a different state university; one that focused on academics. To that end he argued against big-time sports programs, especially football. Of course that was so long ago the Bulls weren't even the Golden Brahmans yet. Now they are a big-time program with a football team that went 7-5 this season and still is going to play in a post-season bowl game. ...more

SEBRING — Sam Robinson and T.J. Williams put pen to paper and took the next step in their athletic and academic lives on Wednesday, as both Sebring football standouts signed letters of intent to play football at separate community colleges in Mississippi. Robinson, a multi-talented, multi-position offensive weapon, will head to Pearl River Community College in Poplarville, Miss., while Williams, a bruising running back, will take his talents to Holmes Community College in Goodman, Miss. "I want to continue to work on my game, be coachable and be the best I can be," said Williams, who has family in Mississippi and noted he'll likely line up as a running back for the Bulldogs.
