State Department of Transportation officials broke ground this morning on a massive $123 million construction project designed to improve traffic flow on the highway. Beginning today, several thousand more drivers each day will be impacted by a new traffic pattern on Memorial Highway (State Road 60) southwest of Tampa International Airport. On Aug. 19, a switch affected traffic coming in either direction from Interstate 275 and Kennedy Boulevard. Now, that switch also will affect drivers coming from the airport's George Bean Parkway or westbound Spruce Street. ...more
