A handful of Manatee County convenience stores and gas stations have spent the day dubbing surveillance tapes from Monday evening, the night Dr. James Briles came home from work and reported finding his wife, Kathleen, dead. Pulling surveillance video is common in the search for a criminal. Detectives have not released the name or description of the person they are looking for in the videos. The sheriff's office did confirm today that Sheriff Brad Steube has returned from vacation to help handle the case. Steube met with Kathleen Briles's family. ...more

Officials at Walt Disney World Resort were investigating what caused the first fatal accident in the 38-year history of the park's Monorail, a one-time symbol of founder Walt Disney's vision for future transportation.
