A motorcyclist died Wednesday night after riding between stopped cars on Interstate 4, losing control of the bike and sliding beneath a moving tow truck, the Florida Highway Patrol said. Starting at 9 a.m. Thursday, personnel from the Hillsborough County Public Works Department will close the inside eastbound and westbound lanes of Bearss Avenue at Livingston Avenue and the southbound left-hand turn lane of Livingston Avenue. The closure is scheduled to continue until 5 p.m. Monday. The closures are necessary to complete repairs to a sinkhole that formed in the median of the road. The county has completed preliminary efforts to stabilize the sinkhole with sand, but needs to complete the repairs by grouting the hole. ...more
