Water temperature continues to hover around the low 60s, and that means slow fishing on the flats around South Shore. Snook are practically dormant when it gets that cold, and even when they do eat there isn't much fight in them. Forecast Calls For 1st Freeze Since '05
A powerful blast of cold air could send temperatures on Thursday morning into the low 20s in Hillsborough County, into the teens in Pasco County and possibly bring a rare freeze to Pinellas County. The freeze could endanger strawberry crops and possibly citrus as well. ...more
