Counting his redshirt season in 1993, former Florida linebacker Dwayne Thomas faced Florida State seven times, going 3-3-1. On his final play against the Seminoles, Thomas intercepted a Thad Busby pass to seal Florida's 32-29 win in 1997. Thomas still lives in Gainesville, where he is a pharmaceutical sales representative and youth pastor. In 2005 and 2006, he served as a chaplain for the Gators. SEBRING — Tradition has been a rich part of the Sebring Fire Department from the day the firemen laid the first bricks at Central Station. From games at Firemen's Field to the ritual of the Valuable Man Award, the fire department's history is chronicled in the book, "The Story of the Sebring Firemen," written by the city's first paid fire chief, Allen Altvater.
