Try to get your outdoor Labor Day fun in early, because storms will move across the Tampa Bay area this afternoon, WFLA-TV meteorologist Leigh Spann said.
Storms will begin to develop around 2 p.m. in Polk and Highlands counties and will move west, beginning to affect Hillsborough around 4 p.m. and continuing west to affect Pinellas County and the beaches from approximately 5 to 7 p.m.
Overall, there’s a 40 percent chance you’ll see some rain in the Tampa Bay area today.
Otherwise it will be hot and humid with an afternoon high of 93 degrees, Spann said.
The pattern will be similar for the return to work on Tuesday, with afternoon storms and a slightly cooler high of around 91.
