Be careful if you're driving this morning.
Dense fog is blanketing much of the Bay area. In some places, visibility is near zero, the National Weather Service reported.
The fog is particularly bad along highways, including Interstate 4, Interstate 75 and Interstate 275, the weather service reported.
Visibility between Lakeland and downtown Tampa was a quarter-mile at 6 a.m., News Channel 8 meteorologist Jennifer Hill said. Visibility has improved to a half-mile in downtown Tampa, she said.
Visibility along the Hernando-Pasco county border had dropped from a half-mile at 5 a.m. to a quarter-mile at 6 a.m., she said. West Pasco had visibility of less than a half-mile at 6 a.m., the National Weather Service reported.
The foggy conditions should continue until 9:30 or 10 a.m. The rest of the day should be partly cloudy, Hill said.
